We are starting with a modest selection, but we will frequently buy new books. The goal is to build-up a collection of books that everyone could enjoy reading/consult for professional and/or personal enrichment.
Currently looking for volunteer to help for the few basic tasks. (Prioritise which books to buy, making sure books are bought, etc.) Send mail to SDS-books if you would like to help.
Please Sent Suggestion for new books / questions at this mailing list :
SDS-books
We are looking for books that fall in those categories :
- Reference books for our work at Gameloft.
- Good general programming books.(Ideally fun to read)
Borrowing books rules :
1 – You must write your name on the book’s label and leave the label in the bookshelf.
* Label are stamped on the inside of the book back cover.
* If label is full, create a new one. (copy the book’s name on a new label…)
2 – Books can be taken home on evening/weekends, but they must be returned to the bookshelf during work hours. (unless special permission)
* Scrath out you name on the label and stamp it back where it was in the book.
3 – FIFO. Or a less geeky way to say it : First come, First serve.
4 – 1 book/person.
5 – Careful with books, keep them as good as a new.
Note : Books needed for a project could be borrowed for a longer period of time by the team lead.
